Comment period ends for proposed rule Health Data, Technology, and Interoperability: Patient Engagement, Information Sharing, and Public Health Interoperability (HTI-2).
- December 31, 2024
- The § 170.315(a)(9) Clinical decision support (CDS) criterion expires on December 31, 2024. Health IT developers planning to maintain conformance to the Base EHR Definition must update their Certified Health IT to § 170.315(b)(11) Decision support interventions by this deadline.
- Certified Health IT developers must publish Service Base URL lists in a standardized FHIR® format by December 31, 2024 as required by the API Condition of Certification.
- December 31, 2025
The HTI-1 Final Rule requires Health IT developers certified to the following criteria to update their minimum code sets and certain standards by December 31, 2025. For more information on these required updates, please visit HTI-1 Overview and Key Dates Fact Sheet.

- § 170.315 (f)(1) Transmission to immunization registries
- § 170.315 (f)(3) Transmission to public health agencies – reportable laboratory tests and value/results
- § 170.315 (f)(4) Transmission to cancer agencies
- § 170.315 (f)(5) Transmission to public health agencies – electronic case reporting
- § 170.315 (g)(6) Consolidated C-CDA performance
