Richard Rapp’s EHR Story: EHR-Enhanced Learning

Richard Rapp is a student at the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Des Moines University. Mr. Rapp has a unique perspective on electronic health records (EHRs), because he has seen nine different systems in various stages of implementation and has used EHRs exclusively throughout his medical training. Because of the variety of systems, Mr. Rapp is able to recognize some of the common benefits of EHRs, including legibility and ease of access to information. Mr. Rapp believes that his experience with EHRs has enriched his studies and has given him insights into the value of EHRs in a variety of settings.
