Jeffery and Melissa Gastorf, DOs, who practice in Durant, OK, were some of the first eligible professionals to receive Medicaid EHR Incentive Program payments in January 2011. Now in their second year of participation in the Medicaid program, the Gastorfs discuss how they are using their incentive payment to make system updates needed to achieve meaningful use. The Gastorfs advise anyone just starting their EHR implementation process to look at several EHR systems before making a decision in order to ensure that the system they choose is a good fit for their practice.
