Ivor Horn, MD, MPH is Medical Director of the Center for Diversity and Health Equity at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine.  Dr. Horn is an NIH-funded researcher in the area of health communication with underrepresented minority communities using mobile technology innovations. She is Principal Investigator on a study of a text-message based health communication intervention to improve asthma outcomes in an urban disadvantaged population. On a national level, Dr. Horn is a Board member and Communication Director for the Academic Pediatric Association (the leading professional organization for general academic pediatrician researchers). Dr. Horn has authored several peer-reviewed manuscripts on health communication and child health disparities. Dr. Horn is also a community-based primary care pediatrician with over a decade of experience providing care and conducting research in communities of color.
