Nedra Garrett is a Senior Public Health Informatics Health Scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance and Technology.  She leads several standards related projects under CDC’s Data Modernization Initiatives. Her experience and training include health information exchange across public health and healthcare, health IT standards and policies and public health-clinical decision support to support data exchange and integration at the federal, state and local levels.  She is the Co-Chair of the CDC’s Data Standards and Harmonization Workgroup and CDC’s HL7® FHIR® Community of Practice She has over 25 years of experience with healthcare and public health information systems. She has a MS degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in public and community health and a BS degree in computer science.  She is also a graduate of the Public Health Informatics Fellowship Program at CDC.
