Certified Health IT Product List Enhancements for Fall 2013

ONC’s Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL) is the place where one can find the complete list of the health IT products that have been certified by ONC’s authorized certification bodies and accredited testing labs (ACBs and ATLs).
During of the recent government shutdown, we were not able to process or post new products on the site. This meant that access to site, product lookup, CMS EHR Cert ID generation, and other automated functions continued to work,

What to Do if You Have a Question about Your Certified EHR

The ONC Certification Program staff receives comments and questions by phone and email that are related to the adoption, use, and implementation of certified EHR, as well as questions related to CMS’ Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs. The standards and certification criteria are intended to ensure that certified health information technology (health IT) products perform required functions that support better health and health care for patients. Many of the comments we receive come to us as complaints that a certified EHR product is not performing all of the functions that were required for certification.

Health care providers who are eligible to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs now have a new tool to help them on their road to meaningful use. As of November, ONC’s official Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL) identifies EHR technologies that have been tested and certified as being technically capable of supporting those providers’ achievement of meaningful use based on Stage 1 criteria outlined in HHS rules published on July 28 of this year.
