International Health IT Collaborations

Health IT is a global issue that is relevant across borders. With that in mind, HHS and ONC have continued to engage in collaborative agreements with our international partners in order to share ideas and ultimately learn from each other to provide the best digital health environment possible for everyone.

Collaboration with the United Kingdom (UK)

The memorandum of understanding between the US and the UK is the continuation of more than four years of work centered on exchanging ideas, harmonizing standards and better understanding how each country, as well as health system, utilizes health IT.

Collaboration with the European Union (EU)

The memorandum of understanding between the US and EU is one way in which ONC and the US are working to continue dialogues with key international partners in order facilitate the implementation and use of health IT for the betterment of patients everywhere.

Global Digital Health Partnership (GDHP)

The GDHP is a collaboration of government, government agencies and the World Health Organization (WHO) - including the U.S. - supporting the effective implementation of digital health services.
