Nancy Orvis has been a member of the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Health System (MHS) team for 16 years. She has over 10 years of experience working on initiatives to improve information management strategies, policies, enterprise business architecture and electronic health record standards for the MHS. In addition to participating on e-government architecture panels, Ms. Orvis has presented at several professional conferences including Health Level Seven (HL7) Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA). She serves as Government Lead for the following standards participation and Interagency efforts: Federal Health Architecture; Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP) Board Representative; HITSP Panel Representative; HL7 Organization Membership Lead for MHS; X12 Organization Lead for MHS; and, DoD co-Chair of DoD/VA Health Architecture Interagency Workgroup. Ms. Orvis also functions as the Information Manager for MHS Service Oriented Architecture Requirements.
