In April 2010, ONC awarded cooperative agreements to five institutions to create Community College Consortia as part of this program. One award was made in each of five predetermined regions to the following institutions:

Each funded Consortium consists of a lead awardee and a number of identified member community colleges located within the region. Collectively, the five regional Consortia have approximately 70 community colleges as members.
