Did you know there are health IT tools that can help you and your providers track your vaccinations?
They are known as Immunization information systems. These systems are confidential, population-based, computerized systems that record all vaccination doses administered by participating providers to people within a given area.

Many of us are still taking care of back to school obligations, including looking for our children’s immunization records. Now, with the wider use of health information technology, or health IT, parents can better manage their children’s health information and school nurses can use these electronic tools to help facilitate reviews of student immunization records.

On July 23, Indiana announced the statewide rollout of MyVaxIndiana , a web-based program that allows individuals to access their immunization records. ONC’s Deputy National Coordinator for Policy and Programs Judy Murphy and the State Health Commissioner Gregory Larkin attended the event as well as other representatives from the provider and patient community.
