MU Stage 2 provides insight into state cancer registry issues and initiates ambulatory physician reporting and interoperability for cancer cases through one of the public health EP Menu set objectives. State cancer registry reporting in MU Stage 2 includes additional clinical data from physicians in addition to existing lab data provided by hospitals enhancing the scope and range of cancer data sources. Key outpatient and ambulatory specialty areas for electronic cancer reporting include dermatology, urology, gastroenterology, hematology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and ambulatory surgery centers.
