HL7 FHIR Medication Request
The American Medical Association appreciates the opportunity to comment. “HL7 FHIR Medication Request” is listed as an emerging standard for a pharmacy. Presumably this is to replace the SCRIPT standard. While HL7 FHIR Medication Request may have potential, we would have concern with the adoption of two different standards creating multiple methods to doing the same thing.

HL7 FHIR Medication Request
Thank you for your comment. The ONC Interoperability Standards Advisory is meant to be a reference of available, recognized interoperability standards and implementation specifications, and therefore contains a number of standards for each use case that developers may choose from according to their needs and capabilities.

NCPDP Comment
NCPDP recommends removing NCPDP SCRIPT Standard, Implementation Guide, Version 2022011, as this version was never implemented. NCPDP SCRIPT Standard Implementation Guide, Version 2023011 is the next version named by ASTP/ONC and Medicare. Federally required should be changed to a Yes for the NCPDP SCRIPT Standard Implementation Guide, Version 2023011.
