Middle Name (including middle initial)

I am just wondering about the workings of the Middle Name field. As it is presented above, I find it confusing. Will the middle initial field be separate from the middle name field? Or should this perhaps read "Middle Name or Middle Initial?"

I support the use of AHIMA Patient Naming Policy for the capture of individual persons in USCDI to standardize the process regardless of what context a name is captured.  

I support the capture and maintenance of all previous names to be utilized with patient matching or linking.
