Health IT Policy and Standards Committee Workgroups
ONC has previously posted blog entries about the extraordinary work of the two Federal Advisory Committees that ONC supports: the Health IT Policy and the Health IT Standards Committees. The members of these committees and workgroups generously volunteer their time, knowledge, professional contacts, patience, and collegiality. Their work is helping America modernize its health care system through health IT.
The workgroups play a major role in developing recommendations for the committees, and through their publicly open meetings and hearings, promote transparency in ONC policy development.
Recruiting Workgroup Members
As part of ongoing efforts to recruit highly qualified workgroup members, ONC has developed an online database system to allow anyone with an interest in contributing his or her expertise in the numerous aspects of health IT to submit their information for future consideration for workgroup membership. Whenever a new workgroup is formed, or as current workgroups experience turnover, ONC will turn to this resource first to identify potential workgroup members.
